Thomas Turlin, Jr. 81, of Perryville, died May 30, 2017 at his residence in Perryville, MO.

He was born January 5, 1936 in Perry County, MO, son of Thomas E. and Inez Rose (Jannin) Turlin, Jr.  He married Polly Christ on January 11, 1980.  She survives in Perryville.

He was a Wood Hauler and had worked at Gilster Mary Lee. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.  He started singing and playing at a very early age, which later lead to  organizing the band Jr. Turlin and the Friendly Valley Boys, He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include two step sons, Mark S. Dosenbach and Kirk W. Dosenbach both of Perryville, two sisters, Marie Trapp of Mathews, MO. and Faye Zoellner of Perryville.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Thomas J. Turlin, Jr, and one infant daughter, Dianna L. Turlin, four sisters, Aileen Fickenworth, Lucille Mae Schneier, Lorine Miget and Mildred Moore.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, June 2 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 6:30 am – 10:00 am.  Funeral Service will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday at 10:00 am with Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer officiating.  Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
